Who can be a VAR and what do they do?
These are individuals or companies, who may also be participants in our 'web referral Program', who make a commitment to become familiar with program use and function. These partners will likely provide some level of pre and post purchase advice. VAR's are likely to enter into sales and consulting activities independently of trackitsoftware and bill for this work directly to the end user/customer. They may sell their own asset labels and barcode scanners or purchase from us at a discount for resale.

Why consider becoming one?
Trakker Software is not sold with telephone support options. It is priced aggressively and intended for the end user to install and set up. This leaves a lot of potential customers who would be willing to pay for advice, support and perhaps training. A VAR can bill for and earn substantial amounts by providing such services. A list of VAR's with brief 'bios' and 'terms' will be provided on our web site to steer nearby end users to them. Some might wish to offer only telephone and email advice during specific hours where others might be willing to offer onsite assistance within a geographic area.

The flexible design of AssetTrakker eliminates the high cost of a programmer. This gives you the ability to sell a turnkey asset management system where profits are not eroded with false starts, flawed design and labor intensive support issues. You can concentrate on selling one system that will address the needs of a large, diverse market. You spend time on generating new, profitable sales that will build a reference base of satisfied clients.

Is this program right for you?
Perhaps an experienced end user who wants to 'moon light' to bring in extra money? An accountancy firm would have the customers needing this kind of software and find it an extra profit source. I.T. personnel would certainly find their way around the program quickly and capitalize on features and applications. It is important to recognize that specialized knowledge and skill are not required to set up, modify or train people on this software. Some smarts yes!

The independent Facilitator can help make asset tracking painless and a success.  End users or potential customers not willing or able to use Trakker Programs on their own would, by having a facilitator help them, gain an almost custom software program geared to meet their specific needs.

What a VAR charges for
VAR's may sell or contract with end users to provide training and configuration of Trakker software products to suit their customer's needs. These may involve.

  • How to set up and use the Microvision 'ROV' scanner for use with the application.
  • Modification of the software (no programming is required) to best meet an end users needs.
  • Training of personnel in use of software and scanners.
  • Collecting and inputting data into the software on behalf of end user.
  • Suggested use scenarios.

What can I charge and how do I gain specialized knowledge
What a VAR charges for their time and service is entirely up to them. You are acting as an independent contractor/consultant so we have no business interfering in your business plans.

Trackitsoftware will provide advice and training to resellers to assist them in supporting end users. Once you've become used to the software and setting up an end users system it becomes easy and you will see opportunities we've likely not even considered. As an expert you could no doubt set up an end users system in ½ the time it would take them to read and understand the manual for a D.I.Y. installation.

A separate section of our web site will be set up for VAR's to trade ideas, templates, suggestions and perhaps even discuss what's a fair price to charge.

Discounts or commission on sale of software will be paid to VAR's when they initiate a sale but not when the customer is referred from our web sites to the VAR for installation/service/support business. The easiest way to accrue and track such commissions would be to have each VAR also join our 'Affiliate Program', easy to set up but does require the VAR to have a web site of their own.
